RMD Hosts First NARCOA run on the San Luis Rio Grande- La Veta Pass

Come join us for a ride up and over the 3% grade of La Veta Pass. Built in 1877, the rails over La Veta Pass were part of General Palmer’s Denver and Rio Grande RR route into the San Luis Valley. The railroad used the slogan Scenic Line of the World to emphasize the fantastic scenery along the route. Wildlife such as Bear, Deer, Elk and Mountain Lions may be sighted..

This line sees both freight and passenger traffic today and is operated as the San Luis & Rio Grande RR. The SL&RG has graciously consented to allow us to use their tracks. [LJ]
